Everything you need to know about Waterproof Shade Sails

More and more people are now learning how to decorate and protect their patio and lawn from unexpected rain showers using waterproof shade sails that are also popular for industrial structures. Aside from fending off rain showers, these are also used to achieve pleasant and cool outdoor environment during hot days. However, unlike typical shade sails that are used to block the sun’s rays, waterproof shade sails are made from the same fabrics used for traditional tents for camping.

The best type of waterproof shade sails are those that allow hot air to escape through the fabric but still keep the water from the area that you’d like to protect. During heavy downpour, you would like to make sure that there will be no dripping through the fabric particularly if valuable properties are being covered.

When installing waterproof shade sails, it is important to angle it at least 20 degrees for every 10 feet of shade sail. This is to prevent water build up in the middle that may cause the sail to sag.  Also, keep in mind that the fabric use for waterproof shade sails do not usually stretch as much as regular shade fabric.
